ANATEL: Frequently Asked Questions
Is ANATEL certification the same as homologation?
No. Certification is carried out by a designated body such as PCN Do Brazil. Homologation is ANATEL's own approval, granted based on that certification. You need both.
My device uses a module that is already ANATEL-approved. Am I covered?
Not necessarily. Depending on the category, the finished product may still need its own certification. We assess this for your specific design.
Are FCC or CE reports accepted?
They help us plan, but Brazil applies its own technical requirements and laboratory acceptance rules. We identify what can be reused and what needs new testing.
PCN Do Brazil takes certification decisions impartially under its ANATEL designation. Global Approbation provides consultancy and coordination. Approval depends solely on product conformity.
