Wireless products sold in Japan, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE and short-range devices, must have technical conformity certification under the Radio Law, overseen by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). The product then carries the Giteki mark with a certification number (often called TELEC). Products that connect to public telecom networks may also need terminal equipment approval (e.g. JATE). Is TELEC the same as MIC certification?
“TELEC” is commonly used to mean Japan’s Radio Law technical conformity certification (Giteki) under MIC. Several registered bodies can issue it.

They help with planning, but Japanese radio requirements differ, so testing to Japanese standards is needed.
Does a certified module cover my product?
