INMETRO: Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I import without INMETRO certification?
Regulated products without valid certification and registration can be held at customs, seized in market inspections or delisted by retailers and online marketplaces.
Can a CB report replace INMETRO testing?
A CB report is a useful starting point, but Brazilian standards may include national differences and scheme-specific rules on laboratory acceptance. We check what can be reused.
Is a factory audit always required?
Not always. It depends on the certification model set in the product's INMETRO regulation.
